NYC, USA
-
Bridges, boroughs, bonkers
-
The crowds were amazing with lots of music cheering and the NYPD and NYFD on every corner supporting.
New York definitely puts on a show!
-
The long bridges are deceiving and some sneaky elevation and tough on the quads if you are expecting a flat road race.
-
Everyone who wants to run a marathon. Such a fun city, what better way to see it.
-
The start is out on Staten Island and is 4 hours from leaving the hotel to the start line.
Wear extra warm clothing (donation bins in starting pens), take food and drinks as breakfast will be well digested before your start.
-
Be prepared for a 2 mile walk to the exit after the finish line (think of it as a nice cool down) and unless the weather is particularly bad, you don’t need the bag drop as the free poncho at the end is amazing (hooded and fleece lined).
