Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

  • Historical. Flat. Organised.

  • The route takes you through some of Cambridge's most iconic buildings including a a few of the university colleges (careful to not run on the green you will get told off).

The route has people cheering you on music and bands playing for most of the way.

This race is so easy to attend. Its accessible through major transport links and has buses for the park and ride.

The bag drop is efficient and there are plenty of loos but you still need to queue early.

  • There is a portion of the route that goes through Trumpington on the outskirts of the city. It feels long and there aren't as many people cheering.

  • Everyone. Its an easy race for a first timer as the logistics of getting there and parking are so easy to manage with the train and bus links, in addition to the copious park and ride spaces.

It’s flat and fast so you can PB if you wish though some bits can get congested so pick the right pace group.

It’s also great for a day out because Cambridge is a beautiful city to wonder around.

  • Buy your park and ride ticket with the race entry.

Enter early it gets sold out.

Book a restaurant and make a day of it (Cambridge has some wonderful eating places).

Buy some clothes at your local charity shop to wear at the race start as its usually cold when it takes place. You can leave them at the race start line as they donate any clothes left to charity.

  • I have loved this race so much, since I started running, that I have done it every year.
