120 km | 5,800 m of elevation |
Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy

  • Stunning, savage and frenetic

  • The absolutely stunning scenery. The Dolomites are truly rugged mountains.

  • The relentless pace at the front of the race is quite mentally challenging, the minute the gradient dropped everyone ran. Oh and the 11 pm start or the altitude didn’t agree with my stomach.

  • Experienced ultra runners who want a beautiful European style race with big ascents and descents.

  • Take some trekking poles. They make a huge difference on ascents.

  • The night portion of the race is relatively benign. It really gets going after about 80k with the longest, then the steepest climbs. Definitely not for the faint hearted.
