Llanberis, Wales

  • Technical, savage and fun

  • The views - we had an unusually clear day! And the final run to the finish; on a runnable path with a delicious downhill gradient with my kids joining me for the final run in.

  • The 1st rocky descent off Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) - definitely not my strength. Plus the final ascent with its many false summits! And there's always an epic bog somewhere...

  • Someone who enjoys being in the mountains and can cope with all types of terrain (rocky, grassy, boggy). And maybe wants some UTMB running stones...

  • Definitely worth recceing the route if you're not familiar with the terrain in Eryri (Snowdonia). Book accommodation early or consider camping.

  • It's part of the UTMB set of races, so you can collect running stones. It also means it's a big event with lots of runners. Other options are the 100k and 165k which get more technical, as well as being longer.
