New Forest

  • Trail and Road

  • The road sections; I am much happier as a runner on road than off - I am a city boy!

The New Forest is of course quite beautiful though.

  • The trail sections in the 2nd half.

It rained, which was nice at first as in lead up to race we had been experiencing a heatwave, but the rain quickly made the conditions underfoot tricky.

  • People who enjoy mixed terrain runs. There was road, gravel tracks, trail and grass/fields.

  • Be prepared for a slow exit. The race is located in a relatively remote area with limited access in and especially out after, leaving was very slow.

Well worth considering not putting on your race shoes until near starting line too as race village is in a quite 'heavy' field.

  • Bag drop is in a totally open area - no cover at all - well worth considering putting your things inside waterproof bags.
