51.01 km | 6558 ft ascent |
Polzeath, North Cornwall

  • Picturesque, peaceful and punchy

  • I wanted to do an ultra with a decent amount of elevation and shorter / more manageable climbs.

This race certainly delivered in addition to stunning scenery along with the Cornish coastline and beautiful villages.

  • Realising I’d been too conservative at the start and worrying about cut offs and then having to pick up the pace with 20km to go.

Actually loved the last 20 km and ran really well #focus!

  • The series has a 10k, half, marathon and ultra and is a great introduction to longer distance trail running with elevation and technical terrain.

  • Hill training and strength & conditioning are a must for a race like this.

  • Main take away from this race for me is to have a milestone plan for pace across the course taking into consideration the elevation and terrain.
